In the 1970's the NCB produced a recruitment brochure for Bedwas Colliery, which is reproduced below in four images. The estimated reserves were stated to last 40 to 60 years, giving a productive life of the pit up to 2030! My thanks to Dai Richards of Machen for e-mailing me these images.
